By tending to view the actions of others in the worst possible light. How does a person become bitter? By filling their heart with bitter, resentful, spiteful thoughts. What about if you squeeze it as hard as you can, or stamp on it with your foot? What comes out then? Manure? No, more toothpaste! Well, so it is with the human heart.
